BRIEF 08: PETER & PAUL VISIT + FEEDBACK

Today myself, Bobby, Tristan and Rinesh visited Sheffield to meet with Lee from Peter & Paul, to get some feedback on our end of year show idea to develop for the final pitch for senior management. Being shortlisted and invited to the studio was an amazing feeling and I was excited to see what the studio would be like as I love the work they do and have engaged in all the briefs they have given.

The  Peter & Paul studio is located in a building called Sum Studios that has a range of other creative and design agencies inside. What use to be an old school had now been transformed into a hub for creatives and was a alternative and nice setting.

The whole building was designed with typographic posters and the alphabetised to certain studio's inside, similar to the M one in Manchester but more colourful and photographic.

The studio had a amazing relaxed vibe and the decor was on point!

Feedback

After admiring the studio, we then had a sit down meeting to discuss what our pitch was, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses. Lee created a digital presentation to show us what step we should go in and how to expand our ideas further for the pitch.

The format of a presentation was really useful in us seeing what we could push it further. I will take on this technique when pitching ideas to clients as it's a effective and professional format.

Highlights
from this meeting

  • 'breaking the mould' is a debatable name, it leave rooms for major criticism.
  • go with the idea of breaking more literally, with plaster or other materials.
  • 4 days to complete these outcomes excluding the weekend.

Overview

This visit and feedback session was really beneficial to the development of the project and also my professional practice. Being in an industry environment and discussing ideas was not only effective but was an engaging process in allowing me to communicate in a professional manner. I really loved the studio and would like the opportunity to work there in the future and could be possible if we win the pitch or if i stay in contact with the studio. Overall today was a success and was nice to see another creative city aside from Leeds and Manchester!
