To begin my research I decided to define what my topic is — "Water supply is the provision of water by public utilities, commercial organisations, community endeavours or by individuals, usually via a system of pumps and pipes."

I then decided to research into some facts and about water supply to get an idea about what is already out there or any issues that I could possibly resolve.
Water supply and women in developing countries is a controversial topic, as lack of accessible, sufficient, clean and affordable water supply has adverse impacts specifically related to women in developing nations. In most countries, women are the primary household members responsible for providing water for domestic consumption. The collection of water, which may take up to six hours a day to meet the household needs, is a duty often relegated to women and children. This foregone time often prevents children, especially girls, from attending school and women from pursuing small business opportunities. — Water supply and women in developing countries

Population, household size and growth and affluence all affect how much water is used. When researching into these different issues I felt that there were a lot of successful organisations such as water aid and 100+ ways to conserve which have targeted such issues. So I decided to take my research into another direction and focus on the benefits of water.

I then brainstormed some ideas about what we use water for and how it's important in our everyday life.
With this in mind I decided to create a mind map of ways in which water can be supplied or distributed for.
From my list of ideas I really liked the idea of supplying water that is used at special events.

I then decided to look further into excising brands that do this as a source influence.
Water Direct
We have been chosen as the preferred drinking water supplier to many of the UK’s festivals and events. At many of these concerts, fun days or fetes, we have to create a bespoke water supply system, including the provision of temporary water storage and water mains together with water distribution points for drinking water, catering and general welfare.
Liquiline is a Dorset based, family business with a national outlook. There are four parts to our organisation:

On reflection on looking at this brand, the design is really bland and lacks any sort of user experience of engagement. Although it might be just water I feel it lacks any appeal to businesses due to the way the content is arranged and the images uses are very dull.

This company has been nominated the best water suppliers for events, however again the brand image does not represent this. The design of their logo and website is mundane and lacks any detail or interactive quality for its target audience.
USP
After looking at these I came to conclusion that this water supplier for events should have a unique selling point and should stand out from different companies. I again brainstormed some potential ideas for this.
From the USP ideas I came up with I decided on linking the company to sending 5% of their profits into going towards a charity or organisation that benefits the under privileged companies that don't have water. Also personalised types of water for events that range from colour and vitamins depending on the package they choose.
What should it stand for?
A exclusive company that supplies water for special events and festivals within the UK. This company is about providing a unique and special experience that caters to any event with customised water containters, pumps and plumbing features. Not just a ordinary water suppliers this company gives 5% of it's profit to underprivileged countries that don't have the means or utilises for working clean water. We start the party and keep it the people hydrated!
